Job summary

White Earth Service Unit in Ogema, Minnesota, part of the Area Indian Health Service, is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the Dental Department. You will provide chair-side assistance, prepare patients, and ensure infection control, sterilization, and equipment readiness for routine procedures.

Responsibilities include updating Dentrix records, taking radiographs, applying fluoride, performing impressions, maintaining supplies, and delivering patient education.

Qualifications

• Follows infection control and OSHA protocols per policy.
• Protects patient health information in HIPAA policies.
• Provides chair-side assistance for routine dental procedures.
• Prepares patients and operatories for procedures.
• Updates medical history and Dentrix notes as directed.
• Takes radiographs and applies topical fluoride per dentist.
• Performs routine lab work and impression taking as needed.
• Maintains instruments, supplies and patient education.
• Explains consent forms and performs light receptionist duties.
• Measures vital signs and prefers Dental Assistant Certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide chair-side assistance with routine dental procedures.
• Position and expose dental radiographs and apply fluoride.
• Update patient records in Dentrix and educate patients.
