What You’ll Do

• You’ll help our dentists deliver excellent care while making sure our little patients feel supported every step of the way.
• Welcome children and families, prepare patients for treatment, and offer reassurance to help them feel comfortable.
• Assist the dentist chairside during examinations and dental procedures.
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials so each visit runs smoothly.
• Follow infection control standards, including sterilizing and disinfecting instruments and maintaining clean, organized operatories.
• Take and process dental X-rays as directed, following applicable safety and certification requirements.
• Accurately record medical and dental histories, vital signs, and treatment information.
• Help children and caregivers understand oral hygiene habits and provide post-operative instructions as directed by the dentist.
• Support the dental team during medical or dental emergencies when needed.
• Take preliminary impressions and assist with temporary restorations when permitted by state regulations and directed by the dentist.
• Help care for dental equipment, monitor supplies, and assist with ordering and inventory.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, required training, and practice safety standards.
• Pitch in with other duties that support daily operations and changing practice needs.
• Uphold SDB’s core values and the team culture outlined in the SDB Handbook.
