Job Description: Dental Assistant at CoreCivic

At CoreCivic, we do more than manage inmates; we care for people. We are currently seeking Dental Assistants who are passionate about providing high-quality care in an institutional setting.

The incumbent should be able to perform the following functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the job requirements:

1. Assist the dentist with the treatment of inmates/residents by setting up instruments and preparing materials such as impressions and fillings.
2. Sterilize dental units and instruments after each treatment and replace instruments prior to the next patient.
3. Control medication, syringes, and other dental supplies or equipment; maintain inventory as per established procedures.
4. Keep equipment and work area clean, utilizing appropriate sanitation methods.
5. Review dental services provided to prevent inappropriate use or duplication of services.
6. Review the status of inmates/residents to ensure completion of all necessary interventions, treatments, and services.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• One year of dental assisting experience is required.
• Certificate or evidence of completion of a dental assistant training program or other requirements meeting the Dental Practice Act in the state of practice.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Minimum age: 18 years old.
