High Tech Dentistry in Westfield, NJ is seeking a Temporary Dental Assistant to join our team for a short-term assignment. This role offers flexible scheduling and valuable hands-on experience in a busy practice.

You will greet patients, assist with procedures, sterilize instruments, take digital imaging, and maintain accurate patient records while upholding infection-control standards. The position is non-exempt with a pay rate of $30–$32 per hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of dental assisting experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• DANB certification preferred.
• State license/certification requirements depend on state.

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for treatment in a timely, pleasant, and professional manner.
• Sterilize and prepare instruments for tray setups before dental procedures.
• Take diagnostic digital imaging as prescribed by the dentists.
• Practice within the legal scope of assistant duties based on state regulations.
• Maintain meticulous records on patient charts and documents.
• Set up and breakdown rooms according to infection control protocols between patients.
• Communicate patient and equipment needs with co-workers.
• Other duties as assigned by Practice Leader and/or Dentist.

• Monday: 12 PM – 8 PM


• Tuesday: 9 AM – 5 PM


• Thursday: 12 PM – 7 PM

Pay: $30–$32 per hour

• Present to work during scheduled shifts (see office manual for specifics).

Education And Experience

• At least one year of dental assisting experience.


• Current CPR certification.


• Other State License/Certification Requirements based on the state you are employed.


• Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) Certification preferred.
