Job summary

Brewster Pediatrics in Brewster, NY is seeking a Dental Assistant to support our clinical team in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. You will prepare treatment rooms, assist dentists, take X-rays, and help educate patients on oral hygiene.

Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program or 1 year on-the-job-experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and scheduling and intake as needed.
• Assist with dental and medical emergencies, maintaining CPR certification and emergency supplies.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations..
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed)
• Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.

Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program or 1 year on-the-job-experience
• High school diploma or equivalent

Dental Assistant are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
