Job summary

Community Health Centers, Inc. is seeking a Dental Assistant to support dental care across Florida facilities. Responsibilities include screening patients, assisting dentists, educating patients, processing instruments, and taking radiographs.

Requires EFDA certification within 12 months of hire, High school diploma, and familiarity with EHR software. Some mobile/flexible site coverage and a valid Florida driver’s license may be needed.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ dental setting experience preferred.
• Must be able to use computer software and an EHR system.

Responsibilities

• Screen and prepare patients for treatment.
• Assist dentist in treating patients and educate patients.
• Process/d sterilize instruments and take radiographs.
• Maintain radiographic safety and infection control.
• Work across flexible hours and sites as needed.

Job Summary

Responsible for dental assisting duties listed in Florida Statutes 466 and Administrative Rules 64B-5, screening and preparing patients for treatment; assisting dentist in treating patients; educating patients; processing instruments; taking and developing radiographs.

Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Dental Assistant diploma or certificate of completion from an accredited school or training program including dental radiology required.
• Successful completion of Expanded Functions Dental Assistant Certificate (EFDA) within 12 months from date of hire.

Experience

• 2 years’ experience in a dental setting preferred.
• Must have the ability to effectively use computer software and an electronic health record system.

Certification/Licensure

• Current/valid Expanded Functions Dental Assistant Certificate (EFDA) within 12 months from date of hire required.
• Current/valid BLS certification within 30 days from date of hire.
