Sarasota Complete Dental, a Heartland Dental Supported Practice, is hiring a Full-Time Experienced Dental Assistant in Sarasota, FL. You will join a nine‑person team focused on autonomy, respect, and modern technology, while enjoying a 4‑day work week and a signing bonus of $2,000.

Daily duties include greeting patients, taking X‑rays, chairside assistance, Dentrix scheduling, and keeping safety standards compliant with OSHA guidelines. Growth opportunities and CE classes are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with dental assistant permit and X-ray credentials.
• CPR/BLS certification is required and must be current.
• Experience as a dental assistant and familiarity with Dentrix are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients and ensure comfort throughout treatment.
• Review health history to provide quality care and coordinate with the team.
• Take and process x-rays and perform diagnostic support tasks.
• Provide four-handed, chairside assistance to dentists during procedures.
• Manage scheduling and record keeping in Dentrix; maintain safety protocols.
• Order supplies, monitor inventory, and support office workflow improvements.
• Collaborate with the team to implement Heartland Dental systems and processes.

More about the role:

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, as well as sustain patient comfort and provide appropriate education throughout treatment
• Conduct a thorough review of the patient’s health history in order to provide quality care
• Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography, etc.)
• Provide superior chairside assistance (i.e., four-handed dentistry) to supported dentists during a wide variety of procedures in accordance with the state dental practice act
• Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping
• Prepare treatment room with strict adherence to safety protocols and following OSHA & CDC recommendations
• Manage supply and inventory levels, as well as place and expedite orders as needed
• Partner with the providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow

Required Education, Certifications & Experience:

• High School Diploma/GED
• State Issued Dental Assistant Permit & X-Ray Credentials
• CPR/BLS Certification
• 1 Year of Dental Assistant Work Experience

Dental Knowledge, Software & Experience:

• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
• Dentrix or other dental software experience
• Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook & Teams Experience
