Job summary

Sky Pediatric Dentistry in Portland, OR is seeking a Dental Assistant to support Orthodontic faculty and students in a busy clinic. You’ll perform chair side assistance, fabricate appliances, take radiographs, impressions, and help manage appointment scheduling and patient records.

Required qualifications include completion of an approved Dental Assistant program, radiography certification in Oregon, and BLS.

Qualifications

Function/Duties of Position

The Dental Assistant provides chair side assistance to Orthodontic faculty, predoctoral and postdoctoral students, and patients in the Orthodontic clinic. This busy Orthodontic clinic focuses on providing excellence in patient care while training future leaders in the Orthodontic profession. Main job duties include: assisting with direct patient care, fabricating orthodontic appliances, radiographs, impressions, and assist in appointment scheduling and electronic maintaining patient records.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an approved Dental Assistant training program OR
• One year of experience as a chair side Dental Assistant
• Certification by the Oregon State Board of Dentistry for Radiological Proficiency required for all positions
• BLS from AHA required. New hires will be enrolled in an OHSU training course and will be required to complete the course during the onboarding process
• Must have worked as a dental assistant within the last 5 years (If qualifying with experience)
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation
