Job summary

DirectDental, a 1-Dr dental practice in Oakland, is seeking an experienced RDA or DA to join the back office. The candidate will place rubber dams, handle ortho, implants, and digital scanning while ensuring exceptional patient care in a fun, inclusive environment.

We value attention to detail, flexibility with hours, and a long-term commitment. Salary can be negotiated for Invisalign proficiency or willingness to learn, with opportunities to increase hourly wage for the right skills.

Qualifications

• Current CPR certification.
• Radiation Safety Certificate (X-ray license).
• Infection Control Certificate (within 120 days of employment).
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to perform detailed work according to established formats and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment.
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments and tray setups for dental procedures.
• Greet and prepare patients for treatment.
• Expose, develop and mount dental radiographs.
• Assist the dentist during examinations and treatment procedures.
• Record medical and dental histories and vital signs of patient.
• Record treatment information in patient records.
• Participate in achieving patient satisfaction and office production goals.
• Assist with other duties as directed and provide patient education.
• Maintain an appropriate office environment.

Job description

Looking for an experienced RDA or DA who can place rubber dams, has experience with ortho, and who is familiar with implants and digital scanning to help run the back office of a fun queer woman owned LGBTQIA+ positive 1 Dr dental office in Oakland. 1 Dr 2 RDH 2 front desk and a full time sterilization assistant, we are looking for someone who likes to have fun and is exceptionally detail oriented. We are transitioning out of being a PPO office and have a very reasonable schedule. I will negotiate salary for the right person, I'm looking for someone who wants to stay long term, there are opportunities to increase the hourly wage if you are well versed in Invisalign or willing to learn.

The DA works on behalf of the patient and the dentist, helping to assure a high level of professional excellence in oral health care delivery.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment.
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments and tray setups for dental procedures.
• Greet and prepare patients for treatment.
• Expose, develop and mount dental radiographs.
• Assist the dentist during examinations and treatment procedures.
• Conduct work in compliance with office policies and procedures, safety and OSHA guidelines.
• Record medical and dental histories and vital signs of patient.
• Record treatment information in patient records.
• Participate in the achievement of patient satisfaction and office production goals by working efficiently and providing a high level of patient service.
• Assist with other duties as directed in the attached Permitted Duties.
• Provide patient education materials.
• Maintain an appropriate office environment.

Hours

We are open Monday-Thursday, and the occasional Friday. We are flexible with considering this part time or full time.

Minimum Requirements

• Current CPR certification.
• Radiation Safety Certificate (X-ray license)
• Infection Control Certificate (within 120 days of employment)
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to perform detailed work according to established formats and protocols.

Optional Requirements

• At least two years of experience in a clinical setting required.

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
