Job summary

Prairie Band LLC’s Fort Duchesne PHS Indian Health Center in Fort Duchesne, UT, is seeking a Full-Time Contract Dental Assistant to join a supportive dental team delivering high-quality patient care.

The role emphasizes chairside assisting, radiographs, and restorative support for both adult and pediatric patients. A CDA/RDA or EFDA preference, active BLS, and US citizenship are required; expanded functions may be performed under Oregon supervision where applicable.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Dental Assistant school/program
• CDA Certified Dental Assistant (RDA) or Registered Dental Assistant preferred
• May perform expanded functions in Oregon under the supervision of a licensed dentist
• Active AHA BLS or willing to obtain prior to start
• Must be willing and able to pass Federal Security Clearance
• Ability to work full-time hours
• Must be a US citizen

Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assisting and restorative support in the dental clinic
• Place and finish routine and complex restorations (alloy and composite)
• Fabricate and place temporary crowns and bridges, take impressions, pour and trim models
• Expose, process, and mount intra- and extra-oral radiographs
• Perform oral prophylaxis, fluoride treatments, sealants, and use ultrasonic scaler/hand instruments
• Provide post-treatment instructions and patient education on home care and disease prevention
• Train and guide junior dental assistants
• Order supplies, stock, sterilize instruments, and maintain clinic cleanliness and equipment

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (No weekends or holidays)

Job Duties:

The Dental Assistant will support providers and patients in the Dental Clinic by performing chairside assisting and restorative support functions. Duties include:

• Anticipating dentists' needs for instruments, materials, and patient care
• Placing and finishing routine and complex restorations (alloy and composite)
• Fabricating and placing temporary crowns and bridges, taking preliminary impressions, pouring and trimming models, and fabricating custom trays/bite rims
• Exposing, processing, and mounting intra- and extra-oral radiographs
• Performing oral prophylaxis, fluoride treatments, sealants, and use of ultrasonic scaler/hand instruments
• Providing post-treatment instructions and patient education on home care and disease prevention
• Training and guiding junior dental assistants
• Ordering/stocking supplies, sterilizing instruments, and maintaining clinic cleanliness and equipment

Qualifications:

• Experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting (adult and pediatric care)
• Knowledge of infection control, sterilization, and dental lab techniques
• Ability to perform chairside assisting, radiographs, and restorative procedures
• Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills

What we need from you:
