Job summary

BMS Family Health Center in Brooklyn is seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to support dentists and hygienists in delivering high-quality patient care.

You will prepare treatment rooms, assist chair-side, and maintain sterilization and infection control protocols while guiding patients with post-treatment care. A team-focused attitude and two years of experience are valued.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Graduate of an accredited Dental Assistant program.
  • Minimum 2 years of dental assisting experience.
  • Computer literate and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual in Spanish or Creole is a plus.
  • A positive, team-first attitude and commitment to patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients and treatment rooms with care and professionalism.
  • Assist during procedures with suction, retraction, and dental material prep.
  • Record accurate patient data, vitals, and treatment details.
  • Capture digital X-rays and ensure proper infection control protocols.
  • Provide post-op instructions and help patients feel informed and supported.
  • Support lab tasks and keep sterilization logs up to date.

As a Dental Assistant, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring a smooth, safe, and comfortable experience for every patient. From preparing treatment rooms and assisting with procedures to maintaining sterilization protocols and providing post-treatment guidance, your work will make a meaningful difference each day. You’ll support our dentists and hygienists chair-side and contribute to both clinical and administrative operations.
