Job summary

VitalCore Health Strategies (VCHS) has an opening for a Full-Time Dental Assistant at North Central Correctional Institute in Gardner, MA. The role supports the dentist, handles instruments, supplies, and patient records to ensure efficient operatory operations.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year of dental assisting experience, and current CPR certification. Security clearance may be required for the position.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year dental assistant experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Subject to initial and ongoing security clearance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepares operatory with appropriate instruments and material for the patients scheduled to be seen.
• Assists dentist during treatment, providing instruments, material retraction or suction. Sterilizes instruments and disinfects operatory between patients.
• Schedules patients for dental appointments.
• Performs laboratory procedures such as mixing impression material for dentures and assists in the clinical procedures of prosthetic dentistry.
• Develops and mounts routine radiographs. Maintains dental charts and records of findings.
• Follows security regulations for keys, sharps, and controlled medications; adheres to safety and security policies and participates in disaster drills.
• Invents and orders supplies to maintain proper levels.
• Attends training and meetings as required.

Dental Assistant Minimum Requirements
