Job summary

Green Street Smiles is seeking a Dental Assistant to join Heartland Dental’s network, bringing patient-centered care and teamwork to daily patient journeys. You will greet patients, review health history, assist chairside, and support doctors with efficient workflow.

You’ll use Dentrix for scheduling, operate iTero scan and digital photography, maintain safety protocols, manage supplies, and participate in ongoing training as part of Heartland Dental’s commitment to quality care and professional

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• Dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification if required by state.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• HIPAA training and PHI protection required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, sustain patient comfort and provide education.
• Review patient health history to ensure quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and diagnostics (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
• Provide chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) to supported dentists.
• Use Dentrix for scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment room with strict adherence to safety protocols (OSHA & CDC).
• Manage supply and inventory levels and place/expedite orders.
• Collaborate with providers to implement Heartland Dental systems and improve office workflow.

More About The Role

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, as well as sustain patient comfort and provide appropriate education throughout treatment
• Conduct a thorough review of the patient’s health history in order to provide quality care
• Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography, etc.)
• Provide superior chairside assistance (i.e., four-handed dentistry) to supported dentists during a wide variety of procedures in accordance with the state dental practice act
• Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping
• Prepare treatment room with strict adherence to safety protocols and following OSHA & CDC recommendations
• Manage supply and inventory levels, as well as place and expedite orders as needed
• Partner with the providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow

Minimum Qualifications

• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
• Experience working in a fast‑paced and customer‑centric environment
• If required under the state dental practice act, dental assistant certification and/or x‑ray certification
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• The position will have access to minimum PHI necessary for performing job‑related functions; regular HIPAA training, aligning with the specific role and responsibilities, will be required; and the individual will need to protect PHI and maintain data safeguards.

Preferred Experience

• 1+ years of experience in a dental setting
• Dentrix or other dental software experience
• Dental assisting school certification

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties of the position
• Prolonged periods sitting and standing
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times
• Availability to attend virtual training sessions (or in-person) periodically throughout the year

This is a standard requirement for dental office roles and must be completed prior to starting employment. The test will be arranged during the pre‑employment process, and any necessary guidance or paperwork will be provided. Not applicable in the state of FL & TN.
