Job summary

Fort Wayne Family Dental is seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to support our clinical team and ensure high-quality patient care in a busy practice in Fort Wayne, IN.

You will gather patient information, prepare treatment spaces, capture radiographs, assist during procedures, and educate patients on post-operative care while maintaining strict sterilization standards.

Qualifications

• Dental assistant certificate from an accredited vocational school (preferred, but not required)
• 1+ years of dental assisting experience (preferred)
• X-ray certification for the State of Indiana
• Current BLS and CPR certification (preferred, but not required)
• Excellent understanding of restorative procedures
• Knowledge of aseptic and sterilization techniques
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of tooth numbers and proficient in capturing a full mouth series of Xrays

Responsibilities

• Gather patient information and health background
• Prepare the work area for procedures
• Take X-rays of patients’ teeth when necessary and display results for the dentist
• Assist the dentist during examinations and dental procedures
• Prepare materials for surgical procedures
• Educate patients on post-operative instructions
• Restock treatment areas and monitor inventory
• Sterilization, adhere to office standards and universal precautions
