Job summary

Florida Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery is seeking a friendly team member to provide chair-side clinical support in our group practice. You will assist doctors, manage patient flow, greet patients, take X-rays, update treatment plans, and ensure sterile procedures across the Operatory.

We value great customer service, a positive attitude, teamwork, and reliability. No travel, on-site role with standard hours and health benefits; some days involve light travel to sister offices as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of job experience; oral surgery experience a plus.
• Education: High School diploma or GED; Dental Assisting Certificate preferred.
• Radiology License preferred.
• Background check required.
• Bilingual is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide chair-side clinical support including charting, patient education, operatory setup and cleanup.
• Manage patient flow and update doctors on status.
• Welcome and greet patients in the reception area with a personal introduction.
• Take and process X-rays.
• Enter and update patient treatment plans as directed by the treating Doctor.
• Ensure OSHA and HIPAA compliance and maintain sterile environments.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provides superior chair-side clinical support and assistance to doctors, which includes but is not limited to charting, patient education, Operatory set-up, and clean-up.
• Manages the patient flow; redirects efforts to respond to changes, prioritizes the next operating room for the Doctors, and updates the Doctors on the patients’ status.
• Welcomes and greets patients in the reception area and provides a personal introduction, including name and position.
• Takes and processes X-rays.
• Perform patient hand-offs.
• Enters and updates patient treatment plans at the direction of the treating Doctor using the company's operational system.
• Verifies the patient’s clinical service needs were exceeded and takes appropriate action when visits do not meet expectations.
• Escorts the patient to check-out.
• Completes sterilization processes for equipment and Operatory.
• Monitors all laboratory cases and ensures they are ready for the next day’s schedule.
• Maintains emergency kits and first aid supplies, emergency medications, and oxygen tanks.
• Follows maintenance schedules for the processor, autoclave, and compressor weekly.
• Identifies, reports, and follows up on any maintenance issues in the office, including dental equipment and handpieces.
• Follows OSHA regulations and MFSD safety requirements, including compliance with HIPAA guidelines, CPR, X-rays, and other required certifications and registrations.
• Other responsibilities as directed by supervisor.

Requirements

• Demonstrating a positive attitude in the face of difficult or challenging situations
• Education Level: High School or diploma, or GED. Dental Assisting Certificate and Radiology License preferred.
• Job-Related/Industry Experience: Minimum 1-year job experience. Oral surgery experience is a plus!
• Background check required.
• Bilingual is a plus but not required
• Physical Requirements: Mostly walking, talking, standing, and updating information in computer systems.
