Job summary

Rocky Mountain Periodontal Specialists in Colorado Springs, CO is seeking a skilled Dental Assistant to join our busy specialty practice. You will support the Dentist with 4-handed dentistry, prepare patients, and ensure a comfortable visit while maintaining records and coordinating appointments.

We value experienced applicants with 3+ years in dental assisting ( perio/oral surgery preferred ), knowledge of sterilization, and strong communication.

Qualifications

  • At least 3+ years proven experience as dental assistant, perio/oral surgery preferred.
  • IV certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization methods, medical conditions, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and people skills; detail-oriented and reliable.
  • Ability to sit/stand for extended periods and multitask in a busy practice.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver excellent patient service and support the Dentist with basic dental tasks.
  • Answer patient questions and address concerns.
  • Keep patients comfortable during visits and be the go-to resource.
  • Welcome patients and prepare them for treatment.
  • Set up instruments, equipment, and supplies; sterilize per regulations.
  • Assist dentist with 4-handed dentistry.
  • Provide oral hygiene and post-op care instructions.
  • Keep the dental room clean and stocked; schedule appointments and follow-ups.
  • Maintain accurate patient records; process payments.

Our office, Rocky Mountain Periodontal Specialists in Colorado Springs, CO is seeking a talented Dental Assistant to join our busy specialty practice.

We are looking for a talented and skilled Dental Assistant to help us accomplish our mission to improve the lives of our patients by providing a world-class specialty experience for every patient. Your Responsibilities
  • You will ensure excellent patient service and lift administrative and basic dental tasks off the Dentist’s shoulders.
  • You will be focused on ensuring that the patients' needs, concerns, and questions are answered.
  • You will help keep the patient relaxed and comfortable during their visit, being the patients go to resource during their visit which includes the following:
  • Welcoming patients to the dental office
  • Preparing patients for treatment, ensuring their comfort
  • Selecting and set up instruments, equipment, and supplies
  • Sterilizing instruments according to regulations
  • Assisting the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
  • Providing oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
  • Keeping the dental room clean and well-stocked
  • Scheduling appointments and post op visits
  • Maintaining accurate patient records
  • Assisting with payment procedures

As one of the essential members of our office, you will also help to facilitate/coordinate other office responsibilities as needed.

You are a resourceful dental assistant who loves helping patients receive the experience they deserve and helping the Dentist to provide it. You also have the following:

  • At least 3+ years of proven experience as dental assistant, experience in an oral surgery or periodontal environment is preferred
  • IV certification preferred
  • Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization methods, medical conditions, and various medications
  • Understanding of health & safety regulations
  • Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • A strong attention to detail
  • Well-organized and reliable
  • A high school diploma
  • A certificate from an accredited dental assistant program (if required by law)
  • An active state radiology license (if required by law)
  • Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to operate standard office equipment.
  • Must be able to assist patients safely in and out of chairs or treatment areas.
  • Must be able to maintain clinical positioning for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work around medical equipment and instruments.
  • Must be able to adhere to OSHA and infection control standards.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements.
  • Must be able to respond quickly in emergency situations.

Schedule: Tuesday - Friday with occasional Mondays, 8am - 5pm

Position Base Pay Range

$23 - $27.50 USD
