Job summary

Aspen Dental in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team. This full-time role supports clinicians, prepares treatment rooms, takes dental radiographs, and helps maintain infection control and patient flow.

You will work closely with dentists and staff to deliver high-quality patient care while contributing to a positive, collaborative work environment. Experience and relevant licenses are valued and opportunities for ongoing CE are offered.

Responsibilities

• Assist during a variety of dental procedures.
• Take dental x-rays.
• Set up and breakdown operatory after treatment.
• Manage infection control and sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and aftercare.
• Perform impressions, bite registrations, and digital scans as needed.
• Support patient charting and document interactions.
• Collaborate with the practice team to ensure patient satisfaction.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Dental Assistant, you will help support the clinical needs of the practice’s patients and doctors. You will have the support and training you need to maximize your career potential and help make a difference in your community one smile at a time.

• Assist during a variety of treatment procedures
• Take dental x-rays
• Set up and breakdown operatory post treatment
• Execute patient handoffs and monitors patient flow within the practice
• Manage infection control – prepare and sterilize instruments and equipmentEducate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain good oral health
• Complete denture soft relines and manufacture temporary crowns
• Perform quality impressions and bite registrations
• Perform digital intraoral scans
• Support patient charting for doctors
• Perform various office tasks as necessary
• Collaborate with practice team to ensure optimum patient satisfaction

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients of all ages and backgrounds

• Ability to work collaboratively with other members of the dental team to provide exceptional patient care
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Active license, registration, or permit as required by the state of practice; including x-ray certification if required
