Job summary

CFG Health Systems, LLC is seeking a Dental Assistant to provide direct support to the Dentist in delivering high-quality care to inmate patients within a correctional facility. You will help ensure safe, compliant operations per CFG guidelines and contractual obligations.

Responsibilities include preparing instruments, assisting with procedures, sterilization, patient education, and accurate charting while maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Completion of an accredited dental program.
• CDA credential required.
• Current state X-Ray license.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Previous clinical experience in a dental office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Dentist during procedures, including preparing instruments, materials, suction, and retraction.
• Perform sterilization of instruments and disinfect operatories between patients.
• Assist with diagnostic X-rays and preparation of dental materials (cement, composite, impression materials, etc.).
• Maintain accurate patient dental charts and record findings.
• Provide patient education on oral hygiene and preventative care.

Position Summary

The Dental Assistant provides direct support to the Dentist in delivering high-quality dental care to inmate patients within the correctional facility. This role ensures efficient, safe, and compliant dental operations in accordance with CFG clinical guidelines, community standards of care, and contractual obligations.

Qualifications

Education and Certification

• High School Diploma required
• Completion of an accredited dental program from a community college, vocational school, technical institute, university, or dental school
• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) credential
• Current state X-Ray license
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Experience

• Previous clinical experience in a dental office preferred

Clinical Support

• Assist the Dentist during procedures, including preparing instruments, materials, suction, and retraction

• Inventory and order supplies to ensure adequate stock levels
• Ensure adherence to infection control policies, universal precautions, and OSHA guidelines
• Maintain dental office security, including instruments, medication, and needle counts according to regulations

• Punctual and dependable for assigned/confirmed shifts
• Maintains security clearance for the assigned facility

Other Duties

• Utilize downtime to clean, organize, and stock operatories
• Perform other position-related duties as assigned
