Job description

Serve your community by applying for this full-time position at the John C. Murphy Health Center in Berkeley, MO.

The starting salary will be $17.20 - $20.65 per hour based on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Performing front desk duties such as patient registration, scheduling, financial interviews, data entry, and answering phones.
  2. Assisting dentists during examinations by organizing and passing dental instruments, operating mouth suction devices, and setting up dental trays.
  3. Providing direct patient care, including obtaining medical information, taking diagnostic x-rays, cleaning teeth, and applying fluoride treatments.
  4. Sterilizing dental instruments and disinfecting work areas and equipment.
  5. Performing clerical duties like scheduling appointments and maintaining inventories and records.
  6. Performing additional duties as required.

Qualifications include the completion of a one-year training program at an accredited school of Dental Assistants.

Selection and Appointment:

A selection committee will evaluate applicants based on education, experience, supplemental questions, references, and other relevant information. Only the most qualified candidates will be interviewed, with a passing grade of 70 or above required. Top candidates will be notified via email to complete a Conviction Questionnaire within 3 days. The final appointment decision will be made by the Department Director based on interview performance and other criteria.

Additional Requirements:
  • All conditional offers are contingent upon passing a urinalysis drug screening, covered by the County.
  • All new employees must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination prior to starting, in accordance with CMS guidelines. Exemptions are available for medical or religious reasons, with accommodations such as mask-wearing and weekly testing.
