Job summary

Mt Vernon Center for Dentistry is hiring Dental Assistants to support dentists during procedures and ensure smooth patient flow. You will prepare rooms, sterilize instruments, take X-rays, greet patients, and help with scheduling and records in a patient-centered practice.

Qualified candidates will have 2+ years of experience, strong communication skills, empathy, and a proactive work ethic to deliver excellent care and maintain a welcoming office environment.

Qualifications

• 2 or more years of Dental Assisting experience preferred.
• Outstanding professionalism, high moral standards, and a self-motivated work ethic.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with your co-workers and patients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments, and ensure equipment is ready for dentists.
• Knowledge of anatomy of the mouth and dental terms.
• Understand crowns, fillings, extractions, root canals and implants.
• Assist dentists during procedures by handing instruments and anticipating needs.
• Take and process X-rays of patients.
• Perform lab tasks as instructed.
• Greet patients and schedule appointments.
• Advise patients on recommended oral hygiene.
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures.
• Deliver clear oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
• Handle general administrative and other duties to support the practice.

The Dental Assistant “assists” our Dentist during a variety of dental procedures. Dental Assisting Job Responsibilities:

• Preparing exam rooms, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring necessary equipment is ready for dentists
• Knowledge of general anatomy of the mouth and dental terms

• Assisting dentists during procedures by handing them instruments and anticipating needs
