Job summary

Standard Iron, a trusted contract manufacturer for over 90 years, is seeking a dependable Denester/Finisher to join our Thomson, GA team. You will remove finished parts from nests, perform deburring and grinding, inspect quality, and prepare parts for the next operation, while upholding safety and teamwork.

Shift options: First 6:00 AM–4:30 PM, Mon–Thu; Second 4:30 PM–3:00 AM with $3/hr differential. Pay $20–$28/hr, starts based on experience, with benefits like medical/dental, 401(k), PTO,

Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing or metal fabrication experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, grinders, and finishing equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and production documentation.
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Remove finished parts from nests and separate components.
  • Deburr, grind, sand, and finish parts per quality specs.
  • Inspect parts for defects, dimensions, and overall quality.
  • Sort, stack, package, and prepare parts for next operation.
  • Use hand tools, grinders, and finishing equipment safely.
  • Maintain production records and identify completed work.
  • Keep work areas clean and safe; follow procedures.
  • Communicate concerns to supervisors and team members.
  • Assist with other manufacturing duties as assigned.

Position Summary

We are currently seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Denester/Finisher to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for removing parts from production nests, separating and sorting components, performing finishing operations such as deburring and grinding, conducting quality inspections, and preparing parts for the next stage of production. The ideal candidate takes pride in producing quality work, maintains a strong safety focus, and thrives in a team-oriented environment.

Compensation & Schedule

Pay Range: $20.00 – $28.00 per hour (starting wage based on experience)

First Shift
  • Monday – Thursday
  • 6:00AM-4:30PM
  • 4-Day Work Week
Second Shift
  • Monday – Thursday
  • 4:30 PM – 3:00 AM
  • 4-Day Work Week
  • Additional $3.00/hour shift differential
Key Responsibilities
  • Remove finished parts from laser-cut nests and separate components.
  • Deburr, grind, sand, and finish parts according to quality specifications.
  • Inspect parts for defects, dimensions, and overall quality.
  • Sort, stack, package, and prepare parts for the next production operation.
  • Use hand tools, grinders, and other finishing equipment safely and effectively.
  • Maintain production records and accurately identify completed work.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
  • Follow work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards.
  • Communicate production or quality concerns to supervisors and team members.
  • Assist with other manufacturing duties as assigned.
