Qualifications

Demolition Superintendent

Independence Demolition is looking for a Demolition Superintendent to join our expanding team. As the Demolition Superintendent, you will manage industrial and/or commercial demolition projects and supervise the day‑to‑day activities involved. You will assess the resources needed for each assignment, generate cost estimates, and keep the project budget on track.

Typical Day

• Assist the estimating department with pre‑bid planning, productions, and field experience.
• Assist the Project Manager in preparing and maintaining a detailed project schedule.
• Prepare work sequences and detailed plans to utilize crews efficiently before mobilization.
• Read, understand, and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Monitor production, resource utilization, and overall job cost versus estimated cost to maintain profit margins.
• Perform project close‑out activities such as punch‑list coordination, furnishing as‑built drawings, providing O&M manuals, and compiling final estimate/retainer billing.
• Ensure mandatory safety practices are followed and cooperate positively with the safety representative.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent mandatory; additional construction certifications or training preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years of industrial demolition experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills for handling a variety of tasks.
• Must develop positive working relationships with owners, project engineers, and local government offices.
• Ability to manage union workforces.
• Effective verbal communication skills with employees, vendors, owners, and general contractors.
