Job summary

Boart Longyear seeks a Demand Planning Manager to own the Demand and Market pillars of the divisional SIOP process. You will develop an accurate, data-driven demand plan across regions, aligning with commercial and financial objectives.

You will lead forecasting, analytics, CRM discipline, and performance management while integrating with Sales, Finance, Marketing, and Supply Planning to deliver a single aligned plan that underpins the division’s operating rhythm.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Economics or related field (MBA and APICS CPIM/CSCP preferred)
  • 7–12 years’ experience in demand planning, commercial planning, or SIOP/S&OP environments, with exposure to multi-region operations
  • Proven track record managing end-to-end demand planning processes and influencing senior commercial stakeholders
  • Strong expertise in forecasting methodologies and market modelling with advanced analytical capability
  • Commercially astute with solid financial acumen and ability to translate signals into actionable plans
  • Data-driven mindset with accountability and continuous improvement within SIOP framework
  • Advanced systems capability across ERP/MRP and planning tools (CRM, BI, planning platforms)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Demand Review phase of the SIOP cycle across regions
  • Develop and manage a single, consensus unconstrained demand plan
  • Provide leadership to regional demand planners and drive forecasting discipline
  • Deliver advanced demand forecasting, analytics, and scenario modelling
  • Integrate new product introductions and lifecycle changes into demand plans
  • Own demand performance management including forecast accuracy and bias
  • Partner with Supply Planning to align demand signals with inventory strategies
  • Align demand plans with financial forecasts and revenue implications
  • Act as the commercial voice within SIOP for cross-functional alignment

Job description

The Demand Planning Manager owns the Demand and Market pillars of the divisional SIOP process. The role is accountable for developing an accurate, unbiased, and data-driven demand plan across all go-to-market regions, ensuring alignment with commercial strategy and financial objectives.

This position governs the demand forecasting process, demand analytics, CRM discipline, and performance management. It ensures optimal visibility of demand signals, risks, and opportunities while driving accountability across regional planning and commercial teams. The role acts as the integrator between Demand Planning, Commercial (Go-to-Market), Finance, Marketing, and Supply Planning to deliver a single aligned demand plan that underpins the division’s operating rhythm.

Lead the Demand Review phase of the SIOP cycle, establishing governance, standards, and a consistent planning cadence across all regions

Develop and manage a single, consensus unconstrained demand plan by consolidating regional forecasts and market inputsProvide leadership and oversight to regional demand planners, driving forecasting discipline, capability uplift, and alignmentDeliver advanced demand forecasting, analytics, and scenario modelling to identify risks, opportunities, and market trendsIntegrate new product introductions, lifecycle changes, and segmentation strategies into demand plansOwn demand performance management, including forecast accuracy, bias, service metrics, and continuous improvement initiativesPartner with Supply Planning to align demand signals with inventory strategies and optimise service, stock levels, and working capitalGovern CRM systems and sales pipeline processes, ensuring data integrity, visibility, and integration into demand planningAlign demand plans with financial forecasts, translating insights into revenue, margin, and growth implicationsAct as the commercial voice within SIOP, enabling cross-functional alignment between sales, operations, and finance

  • Data-driven mindset with strong focus on accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement within a SIOP framework
  • Ability to balance growth ambitions with operational and supply constraints
  • Advanced systems capability across ERP/MRP and planning tools, including CRM systems (Salesforce, MS Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, PipeDrive), BI tools (Power BI, QlikView), and advanced planning platforms (Logility, Anaplan, Kinaxis, Demand Solutions)
