About The Role
Position Title: Demand Planner
Position Overview:

We are looking for a full-time Demand Planner to join our Global Supply Chain team in an onsite role based in Salt Lake City. The successful candidate will be highly analytical and professional, with excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of advanced forecasting and statistical methods.

The primary objective of this role is to ensure accurate and reliable demand forecasting for the North American region by leading the monthly demand review process in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance. Success in this role will be measured by the transparency, consistency, and accuracy of demand data across departments.

The Demand Planner will be responsible for creating and maintaining item-level shipment forecasts that reflect the latest business trends, while accounting for special programs, promotions, events, and other factors that may impact future demand. The role will also lead cross-functional meetings, align stakeholders around the demand outlook, and work closely with the wider organisation to support appropriate inventory levels and supply planning decisions.

Top 5 Priorities for Success in this Role:
  • Develop and maintain a 12–18-month rolling baseline forecast at item level, ensuring forecasts reflect current business trends, historical demand patterns, and relevant market insights.
  • Drive the monthly demand review process by building consensus forecasts with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance. Challenge sales assumptions, document agreed forecast changes, and track their impact across planning cycles.
  • Coordinate forecasting for new product launches, discontinuations, version changes, and promotions across assigned accounts and product lines, ensuring all relevant business inputs are reflected in the demand plan.
  • Measure forecast accuracy, identify root causes of variances, and align forecasts with business plan projections to strengthen the demand signal and support effective inventory and supply planning.
  • Partner with IT and key stakeholders to continuously improve forecasting systems and reporting, including supporting Microsoft Dynamics enhancements and the implementation of Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP).
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a 12–18-month rolling forecast at SKU level for North America across three sub-channels.
  • Review historical internal and external data, industry trends, market insights, and business inputs to develop a consensus forecast. Validate and refine the forecast with Sales and Global Marketing on a monthly basis.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with Sales and Marketing to develop forecasts for promotions and ensure relevant demand information is consistently communicated across functional departments.
  • Coordinate forecasting for new product introductions, product discontinuations, version changes, promotions, and pipeline builds across assigned accounts and product lines.
  • Provide demand planning input into sales strategies for existing, new, and promotional products, as well as product exit strategies.
  • Align forecasts with business plan projections to develop the most accurate demand signal for the supply chain.
  • Measure forecast accuracy, analyse forecast error, and identify root causes and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop analyses and reporting that help the business understand demand trends and support product availability at optimal inventory levels.
  • Closely coordinate with Supply Planning and communicate customer and account action plans to support effective supply and inventory decisions.
  • Partner with IT and key stakeholders to continuously improve forecasting systems, processes, and reporting.
  • Actively participate in Microsoft Dynamics enhancements and potential forecasting system implementation.
  • Actively participate in the implementation and continuous development of Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical or quantitative discipline, such as Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Finance, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in demand planning or forecasting, preferably within a fast-paced CPG environment.
  • APICS certification or another relevant forecasting certification is preferred.
  • Previous experience working within a global organisation.
  • Experience within the beauty or haircare industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics is preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, predictive modelling, and forecasting methodologies, with an understanding of their financial and operational impact.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear business insights.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence decision-making, challenge assumptions constructively, and work effectively across functions.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership and initiative.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Curiosity, a growth mindset, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
