Job summary

Meta is seeking an energetic Energy Manager to lead our demand flexibility and grid strategy across the global data center portfolio. You will own commercial negotiations, regulatory engagement, and cross-functional execution with energy, engineering, policy, and legal teams.

You will drive opportunities, structure agreements, and embed flexibility in energy service terms from site design through operations. Occasional travel is required to advance projects and maintain market awareness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a directly related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, environmental science, or an energy-related discipline.
  • 10 years of experience in commercial energy, utility negotiations, or grid operations, with exposure to demand response, flexible interconnection, or capacity market structures.
  • Working knowledge of demand response programs, BYOC capacity arrangements, and flexible load tariffs across at least one major U.S. RTO or ISO market.
  • Experience representing business interests to utilities, grid operators, regulatory agencies, and industry working groups.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 25%).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Meta's subject matter expert on demand flexibility and flexible interconnection across all markets where Meta operates or is evaluating new capacity.
  • Drive commercial negotiations with utilities and grid operators and ensure arrangements are operationalized.
  • Partner with Policy team to monitor evolving regulatory landscape related to demand flexibility.
  • Manage commercial relationships with data centers across energy markets and engage stakeholders.
  • Negotiate and deliver new commercial agreements enabling capacity and fungible options.
  • Collaborate with Site Selection Team to identify new data center locations with energy needs.
  • Travel domestically ~25% to support energy projects.
  • Communicate key energy market trends and risks to management.
