SENIOR AUTOMATION ENGINEER

(AUTOMATION, INFORMATION & OPERATIONS TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS)

This is the second posting for our need as we filled the first opportunity. This is a great opportunity for anyone seeking to get closer to family in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Maryland. The ideal candidate is a tech savvy professional with a proven track record in the SDLC (system development life cycle) of automated computer systems within biopharmaceutical environments. Due to our unique approach in meeting the demands of our customers, we are pursuing both individuals that can join our team long term as well as SMEs (subject matter experts) that would like to join us on a consulting basis.

SUMMARY

This position will primarily be involved in the specification, design, and configuration of programmable logic controllers (PLC), distributed control systems (DCS), manufacturing execution systems (MES), and data historians (OSI PI). As part of an internal project team or supporting a client at their site, this role will interact with cross-functional groups to propose and assess modifications to equipment and processes to improve the efficiency of the operations to include preparing and executing engineering documentation, operating/maintenance procedures, commissioning and validation test plans for multiple process and utility systems.

OVERVIEW

Special project to increase production capabilities of vaccine. Details below:

  • Implementation of DeltaV Batch system utilizing the PCSD libraries and DeltaV Live.
  • Full lifecycle activities to include, but not limited to the development of software design specifications, participating in design workshops, configuration, testing, SFATs, skid vendor FATs, and site commissioning.

DURATION

  • 12 Months+

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Much of the work can be performed remotely with the exception of the start-up commissioning phase.
  • The ideal candidate is willing to relocate, at least temporarily, just in case they get called in.
  • Expenses will be reimbursed at cost.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 + years in control systems design and implementation. Preferably a broad technical base of experience in the SDLC of automated systems (process controls, MES, and/or data management).
  • S88 Batch experience required.
  • Good process knowledge and a thorough understanding of engineering documents, process control (to include PLC/DCS/SCADA), networks, control systems and application engineering.
  • Working knowledge of structured methodologies for manufacturing systems such as programming skills.
  • Experience with Emerson DeltaV and/or the Allen Bradley family of controller and interfaces are strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical or similar FDA regulated industry is preferred along with experience in the development and execution of test plans, IQ, OQ, PQ validation protocols for new or upgraded integrated factory floor systems.
  • Able to be onsite when needed.
