Job summary

Dallas Independent School District is seeking a Delivery Helper at the Service Center. This role assists drivers, handles pickups and deliveries of books, furniture, and equipment, and ensures loads are secured for safe transport.

You will learn district facilities locations and bulk transportation procedures, with opportunities to cross-train in other Service Center operations and maintain tools and vehicle inventories. A valid Texas driver’s license and clean record are required.

Qualifications

• Accredited High School Diploma or equivalent (U.S.A equivalency) required.
• Minimum one (1) year warehouse experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to perform responsibilities under general supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist truck driver and follow directives of supervisors while in the field.
• Assist with pick up and delivery of supplies, textbooks, furniture, and equipment.
• Help secure loads to maintain deliveries in safe condition.
• Learn location of district facilities, schools, and Bulk Transportation procedures.
• Cross-train into other Service Center operations as needed.
• Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and vehicle; report issues promptly.
• Communicate professionally with Principals, Department Heads, District staff, and vendors.
• Maintain grooming and dress code as required.
• Perform all other tasks as assigned.
