Job summary

Butler Supply Inc is seeking a Delivery/Warehouse Associate for a Monday–Friday day shift. The role focuses on safe, timely deliveries, accurate receiving, storage, and inventory management while supporting the Sales team to ensure customer satisfaction and profitability.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, operating a forklift, assisting customers, maintaining organized warehouse spaces, and performing cycle counts. A positive, safety-conscious attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
• Ability to load/unload and deliver materials safely and accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory.
• Ability to operate forklifts and basic warehouse equipment.

Position Summary

The Delivery/Warehouse Associate provides exceptional customer service while supporting branch operations through safe, timely product deliveries and accurate receiving, storage, handling, and inventory management. This role ensures that customer orders are fulfilled accurately, incoming materials are properly stocked, and the warehouse remains organized and safe. As a key customer contact, the associate works closely with the Sales team to promote customer satisfaction and company profitability.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Load truck accurately and safely for customer deliveries.
• Unload truck as needed at branch and customer locations.
• Drive company vehicle to make customer deliveries and stock pick-ups, obeying traffic laws and safety procedures.
• Delivering complete, accurate, and on-time deliveries
• Maintain appropriate licensing and acceptable driving record.
• Maintain a positive customer attitude towards customers and co-workers by being friendly and courteous.
• Fill customer orders by retrieving material from the warehouse.
• Check in and put away material, verifying quantities, and quality of received material. Maintain clear isles and walkways. Ensure material is properly organized.
• Assist in appearance of branch as needed. Clean warehouse, counter area, bathrooms, etc.
• Know location of merchandise in warehouse. Keep material organized and put away.
• Provide assistance at counter. Assist customers as needed, ask pertinent questions, provide information they may need.
• Continuously update product knowledge. Stay informed and educated as to product inventory and applicability.
• Answer telephones professionally and pleasantly, assisting customers, taking orders and providing excellent customer service.
• Report back orders or discrepancies.
• Perform cycle counts as required.
• Perform vehicle and/or forklift inspections as required, schedule routine or repair maintenance as needed.
• Assist in performance of year-end physical inventories for various branch locations.
• Operate forklift as needed.
• Perform all duties in a safe responsible manner, following all safety rules. Inform manager of any potentially hazardous conditions.

Physical Requirements:

• Regularly required to stand, sit, walk; use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel, reach, or carry.

• Frequently required to lift, up to 50 lbs.
• Occasionally required to lift, up to 100 lbs.
• Must be able to safely tolerate heat in the summer and cold in the winter.
• Regularly required to talk and hear; read, and identify numbers
• Regularly required to apply sound reasoning and logic in performing daily tasks.
• Required to be able to safely operate material handling equipment including a forklift, pallet jack, wire-cutting machine.
