Job summary

Accendra Health is seeking Delivery Technicians to deliver, assemble, and instruct patients on medical equipment in their homes or care facilities. The role requires handling oxygen equipment, alarms for safety checks, and completing delivery paperwork.

The position offers hourly compensation in the range of $20.00–$25.00, with potential after-hours on-call duties, and a focus on safe driving and equipment maintenance. Training and licensing requirements apply.

Qualifications

  • Education or experience equivalent to a high school diploma is required.
  • At least one-year related experience is required.
  • Valid Non-Commercial Driver’s License in the state where the employee works.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and set up medical equipment at patients' homes and care facilities.
  • Instruct patients and caregivers on basic operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Complete paperwork relating to deliveries, pickups, testing and equipment checks.
  • Load and unload company vehicles with equipment and oxygen.
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections and ensure safety checks are complete.
  • May be required to clean, disinfect and assist with equipment repairs.
  • May be required to work after-hours and on-call as needed.

The actual compensation offered may vary based on job related factors such as experience, skills, education and location.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPick up and deliver medical equipment (e.g., respiratory supplies, oxygen equipment, hospital beds, wheelchairs, etc.) and oxygen to patients in their homes.Assemble, set up, inspect and test equipment, and instruct patients and caregivers on basic operation and maintenance, in accordance with state licensing limitations.Complete paperwork relating to deliveries, pick-ups, testing and equipment checks, repairs, vehicle inspections, etc.Load and unload company vehicles with equipment and oxygen.Operate non-commercial vehicles (<10,000lbs GVW and carrying a combination of oxygen less than 1,001 lbs) carrying medical equipment and oxygen.Perform daily vehicle inspections and check for gasoline, oil and fluid levels, tire pressure, and brakes.May be required to clean, disinfect and assist with equipment repairs.May be required to work after-hours and on an on-call basis.Successfully complete all required safe driving programs, abide by applicable motor vehicle laws and ordinances, and demonstrate safe driving practices at all times throughout employment.Maintain valid licenses and endorsements required for the position.Other duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESN/AEducation and/or ExperienceEducation or experience equivalent to a high school diploma is requiredAt least one-year related experience is requiredCertificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations:Valid Non-Commercial Driver’s License in the state where the employee worksDuties include, but are not limited to, the following:Delivers and picks up basic medical equipment and supplies.May instruct patients on basic use of respiratory therapy equipment, durable medical equipment, oxygen equipment, and other equipment/services approved by state licensure limitations.Loads and unloads durable medical equipment onto and off of delivery vehicle.Responds to emergency delivery calls as needed during regular business hours and on an on-call basis.PHYSICAL DEMANDSFrequent lifting/carrying 10 - 160 lbs, including up and down stairsFrequent pushing/pulling 20 lbs – 60 lbs, including up and down stairsFrequent sitting/standing/bending/stooping/squatting/kneeling/rotating/twistingSpecific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, night (low to limited light) vision, and the ability to adjust focusManual dexterityAbility to communicate well with othersApria Healthcare is committed to hiring veterans and military spouses.Teammate BenefitsAs an Accendra Health employee, you have choices to fit your life.
