Job Summary

The Delivery Technician is responsible for delivering durable medical equipment to Apria patients in the home.

Salary Range: $16.44 - $26.69 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Pulls, packs, delivers, and picks up medications, supplies, and basic equipment.
  2. May instruct patients on basic use of respiratory therapy equipment, durable medical equipment, oxygen equipment, and other equipment/services approved by state licensure limitations.
  3. Loads and unloads durable medical and infusion equipment onto delivery vehicle.
  4. Responds to emergency delivery calls as needed during regular business hours and on an on-call basis.
  5. Completes necessary paperwork including daily delivery logs, pick-up and delivery forms, and vehicle maintenance logs. Distributes paperwork to appropriate personnel.
  6. Maintains supply component of patient profiles.
  7. Notifies supervisor if any of the following are discovered in the patient's home: physical abuse, unsafe home environment, presence of animals causing unsanitary conditions.
  8. May clean and assist with the repair of equipment.
  9. Performs routine vehicle maintenance and reports malfunctions.
  10. Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; at least one year related experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years old at the time of hire.
  • Minimum of three years driving history.
  • Successful completion of Apria Healthcare's Driver Training Program.
  • Must meet job-related requirements to comply with D.O.T., F.D.A., and accrediting standards.

Language Skills

  • English (reading, writing, verbal).

Physical Demands

Requires physical activities such as lifting objects up to 100 lbs, pushing/pulling, climbing stairs, and reaching. Valid driver’s license required. Vision requirements include close and distant vision, with ability to adjust focus. The role involves varied postures including sitting, walking, standing, kneeling, and stooping.
