Buddy’s Home Furnishings - Vancouver, WA is seeking a Delivery Technician / Delivery Driver for an in-person role at the store location. The position involves delivering and picking up merchandise, maintaining showroom appearance, and shows growth potential with training provided.

You must be over 21, able to drive day and night, and meet safety requirements. Compensation is hourly between $17.00 and $19.00 with benefits and a Sunday-closed schedule.

Delivery Technician / Delivery Driver Role Summary

Delivery Technician / Delivery Driver helps maintain appearance of showroom; takes primary role in delivery and pick up of merchandise; may perform additional functions or duties as assigned by the general manager; demonstrates effective communication and reasoning skills and shows growth potential.

Training will be provided, and you will be cross trained in all aspects of the role.

• This is an in-person job and only available physically at the specified location.
• You must be over the age of 21 to be considered for this position.

Principal Responsibilities

• Acquire and Maintain Customers
• Ability to demonstrate product features and explain the benefit of those features
• Basic furniture, appliance, home electronics installation/removal
• Complies with all company vehicle safety standards and documentation
• Inside/outside service calls
• Protection of company assets which includes but not limited to inventory, equipment and vehicles

Requirements / Responsibilities

• Must be over the age of 21 to drive a vehicle for work (insurance requirement)
• Intermediate math skills
• Maintain professional appearance
• Must be able to drive during day, night and meet all safety requirements
• Must be able to explain terms of rental/lease agreement to customer.
• Must be able to fill out receipt books, make journal entries.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in person and over telephone.
• Meet and exceed target delivery goals
• Must be able to work overtime
• Must be proficient in product features, benefits; must be able to work on showroom floor.
• Must have proficient navigational skills with a satisfactory driving record and meet insurability requirements
• Regular and consistent attendance, including nights and weekends as business dictates.

Physical Requirements

• Routine lifting, loading, and moving of merchandise (50-300 pounds) using a dolly
• Stooping, bending, pulling, reaching, and grabbing
• Ability to traverse multiple flights of stairs while carrying furniture, appliances, and electronics
• Prolonged periods of driving and standing
• Ability to work in various indoor and outdoor climates and weather conditions
