Job summary

Matthews Memorialization in Abilene, TX is seeking a reliable Part-Time Delivery Professional to transport new caskets to funeral homes using company box trucks and vans. Work shifts begin at 4 or 5 am and end by early afternoon, with 25–29 hours weekly over 3–4 days and rotating Saturdays.

Compensation is $20 per hour. Must have a valid driver’s license (CDL not required); ability to lift up to 50+ pounds; prior delivery experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Some delivery experience is preferred; or equivalent education/experience.
• Basic proficiency with MS Office, Outlook and internet applications.

Position Summary

We believe that our Delivery Professionals are the heart and soul of our business, serving as the primary ambassadors to our valued customers. We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Part - Time Delivery Professional to join our team at our Abilene, TX Service Center. Matthews International is a world wide leader in casket manufacturing, providing the highest quality wood, metal and cremation caskets and other products to our funeral home customers. This position will be responsible for the delivery of new caskets to funeral homes in the surrounding area using company box trucks and vans.

Work Shift: First Shift starting at 4 or 5am til finish, Our Delivery Professionals are home every early afternoon.

Pay Rate: $20 - hourly.

Work Schedule: 3-4 days a week. Availability needed on rotating Saturdays.

Weekly Hours: Our Delivery Professionals can expect to work between 25 - 29 hours.

Job Responsibilities

• Delivery of new caskets to funeral homes in the surrounding area using company box trucks and vans.
• Contribute to our warehouse operations as required, assisting in tasks such as prepping, loading and unloading caskets, inventory management, and maintaining an organized workspace.
• Service our customers with a friendly and welcoming smile.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous delivery driver experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
• Must have current driver’s license (CDL is NOT required).
• Ability to pass a DOT Physical and MVR Check.
• Maintain a safe driving record, demonstrating responsible and cautious driving behavior.

Qualifications / Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
• Previous driver experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
• Basic analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
• Basic verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
• Basic understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
• Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
