Job summary

SRS Distribution Inc. in Jacksonville, NC is seeking a Delivery Helper to load and unload materials, locate job sites, back and prepare the truck for the day, and help maintain truck and equipment.

The role requires compliance with OSHA/DOT safety guidelines, pre-trip inspections, safe delivery, and reliable communication with customers and team members. Expect lifting up to 75 lbs and outdoor work in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and communicate information accurately.
• Stamina to lift at least 75 lbs. to carry materials such as drywall materials and joint compound.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with company, state and federal guidelines, especially OSHA and DOT for safety.
• Perform pre-trip inspections of equipment, paperwork and loaded product to ensure order accuracy.
• Safely unload product and deliver to assigned area as directed by the customer.
• Secure mud, equipment, metal, and pallet on the truck.
• Navigate routes to the job site.

Position Summary

The primary functions of the Delivery Helper are to load, locate job sites, backing, preparing and restoring the job site, and preparing the truck for the following day and maintaining the truck and equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Compliance of company, state and federal guidelines particularly as it relates to OSHA and DOT for the safety of all personnel.
• Perform pre-trip inspections of equipment, paperwork and loaded product to ensure accuracy of order.
• Safely unload product and deliver to assigned area as directed by the customer.
• Secures mud, equipment, metal, and pallet on truck.
• Navigates routes to the job site.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to remain standing 90% of the time.
• Constantly, moving from unloading materials from commercial motor vehicles onto job site.
• Constantly, positions self to unload and load materials from flatbed or boom.
• Frequently moves materials weighing up to 100lbs while unloading and loading flatbed.
• Must be able to communicate with management and coworkers and be able to exchange accurate. information in these situations.
• Constantly working in an outside environment while making deliveries.

• Must be able to manage stress depending on customer’s deadline.
• Must be able to multitask.
