Job summary

Cowtown Materials, Inc. - Amarillo, a national building materials distributor, seeks a Delivery Helper to support loading, site location, unloading, and daily truck readiness.

You will help ensure safe, on-time deliveries, assist with securing materials, and maintain efficient routes with a focus on safety and accuracy. The role emphasizes independence and teamwork, including lifting heavy materials, data entry, and clear communication with drivers and customers.

Qualifications

• Able to read, write and communicate information accurately.
• Physical ability to lift at least 75 lbs to move materials.
• Demonstrates teamwork and collaborative mindset to support site operations.
• Self-motivated, proactive and able to work with minimal supervision.

• Comply with company, state and federal safety guidelines (OSHA/DOT).
• Perform pre-trip inspections of equipment and paperwork for accuracy.
• Safely unload product and deliver to designated area as directed by the customer.

Job description

The primary functions of the Delivery Helper are to load, locate job sites, backing, preparing and restoring the job site, and preparing the truck for the following day and maintaining the truck and equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Compliance of company, state and federal guidelines particularly as it relates to OSHA and DOT for the safety of all personnel. Perform pre-trip inspections of equipment, paperwork and loaded product to ensure accuracy of order. Safely unload product and deliver to assigned area as directed by the customer. Secures mud, equipment, metal, and pallet on truck. Navigates routes to the job site.

Basic Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and communicate information accurately. Stamina to lift at least 75 lbs. in order to carry materials, such as drywall materials and joint compound. Physical Requirements

• Must be able to remain standing 90% of the time.
• Constantly, moving from unloading materials from commercial motor vehicles onto job site.
• Constantly, positions self to unload and load materials from flatbed or boom.
• Frequently moves materials weighing up to 100lbs while unloading and loading flatbed.
• Must be able to communicate with management and coworkers and be able to exchange accurate. information in these situations.
• Constantly working in an outside environment while making deliveries.

• Must be able to manage stress depending on customer’s deadline.
