Job summary

Atlantic Tire Distributors in Ridgeville, SC is seeking a dependable Delivery Driver (Non-CDL) to move tires and related products. This full-time role offers a Mon–Fri schedule, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, with evenings and weekends off, and pay starting at $20–$22 per hour based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Verify contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.

Summary:

Drive a light vehicle, such as a truck, with a capacity of less than 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), primarily to deliver or pick up tires. Delivery routes are “until done”, which means shift end time will vary from day to day. May load and unload vehicles; as well as other duties assigned by the manager.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities; include but not limited to:

• Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
• Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.
• Report on any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.
• Properly document goods delivered or loaded.
• Load and unload trucks
• Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
• Maintain records, such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements, in accordance with regulations.
• Read maps and follow written or verbal geographic directions.
• Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to bases or other vehicles, using telephones or mobile two-way radios.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment- Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, or passenger vehicles.
• Material Handling: Load, unload, secure, and move products safely using hands, arms, pallet jacks, and forklifts.
• Warehouse Operations Knowledge: Understand basic warehouse processes including receiving, picking, staging, and inventory handling.
• Customer Service: Interact professionally and courteously with customers during deliveries and pickups.
• Performing General Physical Activities- Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
• Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates- Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
• Equipment Inspection and Maintenance- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and identify equipment issues to maintain safety and compliance.
• Time Management- Plan routes efficiently and manage delivery schedules to meet deadlines and meet customer expectations.
• Problem Solving- Apply practical thinking to address delivery challenges, unexpected delays, or customer concerns.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The truck may or may not be air conditioned/heated seasonally. The employee must regularly lift up to 100 pounds, frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific visions abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
