Job summary

Virginia Eagle Distributing Company is seeking a motivated, physically active Non-CDL Driver for our Verona, VA operation. You will deliver beverages, stock shelves, build displays, and support route sales goals using a company tablet and printer.

The role emphasizes hands-on work, lifting 15–40+ lbs repeatedly, and occasional heavy lifts. Training and internal growth toward CDL are provided as you advance with the team.

Qualifications

• Must have valid standard drivers license (no CDL required) and clean driving record.
• Must be able to operate a delivery vehicle weighing <26,000 lbs GVWR.
• Ability to lift and carry 1540+ lbs repeatedly during a 1015 hour shift.
• Must maintain insurability to operate a motor vehicle.
• Excellent English communication (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Operate delivery vehicles on an assigned route to deliver beverages to retail accounts.
• Stock shelves, build displays, and keep backrooms organized.
• Assist Sales Rep in meeting route sales goals with professional service levels.
• Process deliveries via company tablet and printer; obtain signatures and complete paperwork.
• Accept and process payments per ABC requirements; balance cash as needed.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Support safe backing when traveling with a teammate.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and fuel correctly.
• Report safety hazards and mechanical issues promptly.
• Attend Sales Meetings and pursue career development opportunities.

Job description

No CDL? No problem — and no desk either. Virginia Eagle Distributing (VED) is one of Virginia's leading beverage distributors, and we're looking for a motivated, physically active Non-CDL Driver to join the team out of our Veronafacility. All you need is a valid driver's license and a clean record. We'll handle the rest.

This is a hands-on, get-after-it kind of job. You'll be lifting cases, building displays, stocking shelves, and covering your route on foot and behind the wheel. If sitting still isn't your style and you take pride in leaving every account better than you found it, this role is built for you. And if you've got your eye on a CDL down the road, VED promotes from within and supports Non-CDL Drivers who want to grow into a CDL role.

The schedule: Tuesday through Friday, home every night. Three-day weekends built in, no strings attached.

What You'll Do

• Operate delivery vehicles (GVWR under 26,000 lbs.) to deliver beverage products to retail accounts on an assigned route and schedule
• Ensure all VED products are stocked to standard: shelves full, displays filled; backrooms organized with all product in selling position
• Execute front-to-back product rotation on shelves, displays, warm/cold shelves, and single-serve shelves; immediately pull and report any out-of-code product
• Assist the Sales Representative in meeting route sales goals through professional service levels at every account
• Process deliveries via company-issued tablet and portable printer: generate invoices, obtain proof-of-delivery signatures, and complete all required documentation
• Collect payments per ABC requirements (EFT, check, money order); follow VED cash handling procedures; make daily bank deposits
• Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR) before departure and return to company property
• When traveling with a teammate, assist with safe backing operations: position behind the vehicle to provide visual clearance before reversing
• Keep assigned company vehicle clean, check fluid levels regularly, and fuel with the correct fuel type
• Report all safety hazards, mechanical issues, and account concerns to the Relief Manager and Sales Representative promptly
• Attend required Sales Meetings and actively pursue VED career development opportunities

What We're Looking For

• Valid standard driver's license (no CDL required) with a safe driving record — required
• Must be able to operate a delivery vehicle weighing less than 26,000 lbs. GVWR
• Must maintain insurability to operate a motor vehicle
• Ability to lift and carry 15–40+ lbs. repeatedly throughout a 10–15 hour shift, including overhead lifting, with frequent bending, stooping, standing, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, and sitting
• Ability to occasionally lift kegs weighing up to 165 lbs.
• Ability to safely operate a pallet jack, hand truck, and u-boat
• Basic math skills and ability to communicate in English verbally and in writing
• Reliable attendance; must report to work on time as scheduled

• Competitive hourly pay: $19.00 - $23.50based on location and experience.Starting pay for new hires is typically at or near the range minimum. Placement above the minimum is based on directly relevant industry experience and internal equity.
