Job summary

Lincare is seeking a Delivery Driver to ensure safe and timely delivery of home medical equipment and provide equipment setup and patient education. You will follow orientation checklists, adhere to routes, and maintain a clean, safe vehicle while building strong patient relationships.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of driving experience, and a valid driver's license. Physical duties include lifting, pushing, and occasional on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year in a professional driving role or equivalent.
• Home care/health care background is a plus.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and train patients on home medical equipment per orientation checklists.
• Adhere to routes and schedules and maintain safe driving record.
• Inspect and maintain delivery vehicle and load/unload safely.
• Establish and maintain positive patient and team relationships.
• On-call rotation during evenings and weekends for emergencies.

JOB FUNCTIONS

• Follow complete patient orientation checklists during delivery and training
• Adhere to assigned routes and schedules
• Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record
• Inspect and maintain company-provided delivery vehicle, ensuring safety during the loading and unloading process
• Establish and maintain outstanding relations with patients and internal team members
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of delivery vehicle and warehouse, adhering to all FDA protocols
• Work on-call rotation during evening and weekend hours to address any patient medical emergencies in accordance with company and local policies

Education

• High SchoolDiplomaor General Education Degree (GED), Required

Work Experience

• Minimum, one year of experience in professional driving role or equivalent position, Required
• Home care/health care background is a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Non CDL drivers can be 18 or older
• CDL drivers are required to be 21 or older
• Must be good with people, with excellent speaking and writing
• Must maintain a valid D/L for appropriate class of vehicle driven while employed
• Convey a positive and professional image to customers and employees
• Read and understand DOT and FDA required paperwork
• Critically think, make decisions, and be mentally alert
• Strong customer service
• Basic computer knowledge
• Must lift 50+ pounds by oneself
• Must lift excess of 50lbs with mechanical or employee assistance
• Maneuver often in restricted spaces
• Perform the following physical actions:

  • pulling hand over hand

  • use of fingers/fine manipulation
  • repeated bending
• Utilize hands, legs, and eyes for operating vehicle
• Use depth perception
• Lift up to 15lbs above the shoulder while loading and unloading
