Job summary

Lincare is seeking a Delivery Driver to ensure safe, timely delivery of home medical equipment and provide equipment setup and patient education. You will follow orientation checklists, adhere to routes, and maintain safety and professional image.

Role requires strong communication, a valid license, and ability to lift heavy loads. On-call rotations evenings/weekends are required per policy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year of professional driving experience required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Meets DOT and FMCSA physical requirements.
• Must lift up to 50 pounds and handle heavy loads.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and train patients on use of home medical equipment.
• Adhere to routes and schedules, and maintain a safe driving record.
• Inspect and maintain delivery vehicle and loading/unloading safety.
• Establish positive relations with patients and internal teams.
• Maintain vehicle/warehouse cleanliness and comply with FDA protocols.
• Support on-call rotations during evenings and weekends for emergencies.

We are currently seeking a Delivery Driver to join our growing team, ensuring safe and timely delivery of home medical equipment to our patients, also providing equipment setup and educating patients on the proper use of equipment.

JOB FUNCTIONS

• Follow complete patient orientation checklists during delivery and training
• Adhere to assigned routes and schedules
• Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record
• Inspect and maintain company-provided delivery vehicle, ensuring safety during the loading and unloading process
• Establish and maintain outstanding relations with patients and internal team members
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of delivery vehicle and warehouse, adhering to all FDA protocols
• Work on-call rotation during evening and weekend hours to address any patient medical emergencies in accordance with company and local policies

Education

• High SchoolDiplomaor General Education Degree (GED), Required

Work Experience

• Minimum, one year of experience in professional driving role or equivalent position, Required
• Home care/health care background is a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Non CDL drivers can be 18 or older
• CDL drivers are required to be 21 or older
• Must be good with people, with excellent speaking and writing
• Must maintain a valid D/L for appropriate class of vehicle driven while employed
• Convey a positive and professional image to customers and employees
• Read and understand DOT and FDA required paperwork
• Critically think, make decisions, and be mentally alert
• Basic computer knowledge
• Must lift 50+ pounds by oneself
• Must lift excess of 50lbs with mechanical or employee assistance
• Maneuver often in restricted spaces
• Perform the following physical actions:
  • straight pulling
  • pulling hand over hand
  • reachingabove the shoulder
  • use of fingers/fine manipulation
  • repeated bending
• Utilize hands, legs, and eyes for operating vehicle
• Lift up to 15lbs above the shoulder while loading and unloading

Licenses and Certifications
