Job summary

Lincare Holdings is seeking a Delivery Driver to join our team in Alexandria, LA. You will ensure safe, timely delivery of home medical equipment, provide equipment setup, and educate patients on proper usage.

Responsibilities include following patient orientation checklists, maintaining routes, and upholding safety and regulatory standards. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential, with on-call shifts in the evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year of professional driving experience; home care/health care is a plus.
• Valid Driver's License and ability to meet DOT/FMCSA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Follow patient orientation checklists during delivery and training.
• Adhere to assigned routes and schedules.
• Maintain a safe driving record and comply with transportation laws.
• Inspect and maintain delivery vehicle and equipment.
• Establish and maintain positive relations with patients and team members.
• Keep delivery vehicle and warehouse clean and organized, in line with FDA protocols.
• Work on-call rotation during evenings and weekends to support patient needs.

We are currently seeking a Delivery Driver to join our growing team, ensuring safe and timely delivery of home medical equipment to our patients, also providing equipment setup and educating patients on the proper use of equipment.

JOB FUNCTIONS

• Follow complete patient orientation checklists during delivery and training
• Adhere to assigned routes and schedules
• Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record
• Inspect and maintain company-provided delivery vehicle, ensuring safety during the loading and unloading process
• Establish and maintain outstanding relations with patients and internal team members
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of delivery vehicle and warehouse, adhering to all FDA protocols
• Work on-call rotation during evening and weekend hours to address any patient medical emergencies in accordance with company and local policies

Education

• High SchoolDiplomaor General Education Degree (GED), Required

Work Experience

• Minimum, one year of experience in professional driving role or equivalent position, Required
• Home care/health care background is a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Non CDL drivers can be 18 or older
• CDL drivers are required to be 21 or older
• Must be good with people, with excellent speaking and writing
• Must maintain a valid D/L for appropriate class of vehicle driven while employed
• Convey a positive and professional image to customers and employees
• Read and understand DOT and FDA required paperwork
• Critically think, make decisions, and be mentally alert
• Strong customer service
• Basic computer knowledge
• Must lift 50+ pounds by oneself
• Must lift excess of 50lbs with mechanical or employee assistance
• Maneuver often in restricted spaces
• Perform the following physical actions:

  • use of fingers/fine manipulation
  • repeated bending
• Utilize hands, legs, and eyes for operating vehicle
• Use depth perception
• Lift up to 15lbs above the shoulder while loading and unloading
