Job summary

The Sherwin-Williams Company is hiring a full-time delivery driver in Brooklyn Park, MN to transport paints and related products from a Sherwin-Williams facility. You will deliver to customers using box and flat-bed trucks, ensuring orders are complete, properly packed, and delivered safely and on time.

Responsibilities include loading, route adherence, vehicle maintenance, and providing excellent customer service while following all transportation laws.

Qualifications

• Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
• Must be legally authorized to work without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must hold a valid CDL with hazmat endorsement.
• Must have a valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC).
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs occasionally.
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
• Must read and speak English sufficiently to communicate.

Responsibilities

• Deliver customer orders from a Sherwin-Williams facility using box and flat-bed trucks.
• Load customer orders properly on the truck.
• Ensure appropriate forms are completed.
• Load, transport, and deliver items to customers safely and on time.
• Maintain the store vehicle and report service needs.
• Provide excellent customer service and handle complaints.
• Adhere to assigned routes and time schedules.
• Abide by transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
• Prepare reports and other delivery documents.
• Operate vehicles and equipment such as cars, trucks, forklifts, etc.
• Perform warehouse duties including tinting and mixing customer orders.

Job description

This position is responsible for local product delivery, including hazardous materials, to customers from a Sherwin-Williams facility using box and flat-bed trucks. Drivers ensure deliveries are complete, packed correctly, and safely delivered to the correct customer. Drivers are accountable for customer satisfaction and for transporting items in a safe, timely manner.

• Location: 10695 Winnetka Avenue, Brooklyn Park, MN 55445
• Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 1st shift (seasonal not available)
• Compensation: $25.00 - $26.50 hourly

Job duties include contact with other employees, operating heavy machinery, and access to proprietary information, raw materials, finished merchandise, and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company's staff, employees, and vendors.

• Ensure deliveries are prepared to meet customer requirements in the most efficient manner
• Load customer orders properly on the truck

• Perform other tasks in the store, including warehouse duties, tinting, and mixing customer orders and waiting on customers

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
• Must have a valid, unrestricted Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a hazardous materials endorsement
• Must have a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC) from a Department of Transportation (DOT) licensed "medical examiner" listed on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) National Registry or be willing to obtain one within five business days of receiving a conditional offer of employment
• Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion.
• Must be willing to work all scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Must read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Have at least a High School diploma or GED
• Have at least one (1) year of experience working as a delivery driver
• Have at least one (1) year of work experience using material handling equipment (for example: forklifts (stand and sit), pallet jacks, hand trucks, order pickers, vacu-hoists, drum dollies, conveyor belts, etc.)
• Have previous work experience selling paint and paint-related products
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish
