Job summary

Sherwin-Williams is seeking a delivery driver to deliver paints and supplies from Store #2041 in Lawrenceville, GA, ensuring timely, accurate, and safe deliveries. You will load, transport, and unload customer orders while maintaining vehicle condition and providing first-rate customer service.

The role requires physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs, pass a background check, and meet DOT medical requirements. Evening and weekend shifts may be required; bilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years old.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Must have a valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
  • Must have a valid DOT/FMCSA Medical Examiner's Certificate or be willing to obtain one within five business days of conditional offer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 70 lbs on occasion.
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends.
  • Must read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public.
  • Prefer 1 year delivery driver experience.
  • Prefer High School diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure deliveries are prepared to meet customer requirements.

  • Complete appropriate forms for deliveries.
  • Load, transport, and deliver items safely and timely.
  • Maintain the store vehicle and report any repair needs.
  • Provide excellent customer service and address complaints.
  • Follow assigned routes and schedules.
  • Adhere to transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
  • Prepare reports related to deliveries.
  • Operate vehicles and equipment such as cars, trucks, forklifts, etc.
  • Support store tasks including warehouse duties and tinting/mixing orders.

Job description

This position is responsible for delivering products to customers from Sherwin-Williams stores using box and flat-bed trucks. Drivers ensure deliveries are complete, packed correctly, and safely delivered to the correct customer. Drivers are accountable for customer satisfaction and for transporting items in a safe, timely manner.

Job duties involve contact with customers, which may include minors; and access to cash and other payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, store merchandise and other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company’s customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the general public.

The individual selected for this role will be expected to work at Store #2041, located at: 524 Lyle Cir, Lawrenceville, GA 30046.

The starting rate for this role is $18/hour.

  • Ensure deliveries are prepared to meet customer requirements in the most efficient manner
  • Load customer orders properly on the truck
  • Ensure appropriate forms are completed
  • Load, transport, and deliver items to customers in a safe, timely manner
  • Maintain the store vehicle and alert the supervisor to repair and servicing needs
  • Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and handle complaints from customers
  • Adhere to assigned routes and following time schedules
  • Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record
  • Prepare reports and other documents relating to deliveries
  • Operate equipment and machines, such as cars, trucks, forklifts, etc.
  • Perform other tasks in the store, including warehouse duties, tinting, and mixing customer orders and waiting on customers
Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
  • Must have a valid, unrestricted Driver’s License
  • Must have a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC) from a Department of Transportation (DOT) licensed "medical examiner" listed on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) National Registry or be willing to obtain one within five business days of receiving a conditional offer of employment
  • Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion.
  • Must be willing to work all scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Have at least a High School diploma or GED
  • Have at least one (1) year of experience working as a delivery driver
  • Have at least one (1) year of work experience using material handling equipment (for example: forklifts (stand and sit), pallet jacks, hand trucks, order pickers, vacu-hoists, drum dollies, conveyor belts, etc.)
  • Have previous work experience selling paint and paint-related products
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish
