Job summary

Ben E. Keith Company is seeking a Delivery Driver DOT to support our beverage distribution in Texas. You will verify orders, help deliver to retail locations, rotate stock, and maintain backstock areas. A Texas Class A CDL and at least one year of recent experience are required.

This role involves physical work, pre/post-trip inspections, and adherence to safety standards. A $1,500 sign-on bonus is offered along with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with retail customers and ensure accurate orders.

• Unload safely and verify order completeness with the customer.
• Maintain backstock areas, rotate stock, and keep displays stocked.
• Complete deposits, paperwork, and pre/post-trip truck inspections.

The Delivery Driver DOT position will assist the service team by helping deliver Ben E. Keith Beverages product to customers' retail locations. This position will be responsible for helping verify the accuracy of each order, fill cooler windows and back stock, rotate product, and ensure a great delivery experience by picking up all cardboard and trash.

Position requires a Texas Class A CDL driver’s license (at least one year of recent, consecutive experience). Please fill out the DOT application in its entirety to be considered. Eligible for all NEW BEN E. KEITH CDL DRIVERS.

Driver safety is important to Ben E. Keith. We use dash cameras which leverage artificial intelligence to recognize safe driving, capture safety events and improve driver safety performance. The videos are also used to exonerate drivers in accidents. All drivers sign a driver consent form upon hire to confirm their understanding.

Job Responsibilities

• Build healthy business relationships and establish good communication with our retail customers
• Assist with delivery of Ben E. Keith Beverage products to customers
• Count, organize and refill backstock, coolers, beer shelves and displays
• Safely unload order at customer location with the aid of a hand truck (dolly), manual or electric jack
• Count and verify order completeness with customer
• Build displays as required
• Maintain designated backstock area at customer location; ensure area is organized and free of trash
• Fill in for any driver (vacation, open position, etc.) as needed
• Check in product and pallets upon return to the warehouse, making sure the load sheet is properly completed
• Complete paperwork including the deposit of checks and money orders to be turned in to the cashier
• Refuel truck at the end of the day
• Meet all DOT and Ben E. Keith standards of safety and compliance regarding the company vehicle as well as when driving and loading or unloading the vehicle.
• Ensure company equipment is in safe, working condition; reports any incidents or unsafe conditions immediately to supervisor
• Operate all company equipment safely and in a manner consistent with company policy
• Complete a pre-trip and post-trip inspection of truck; if something needs attention document and report problem to be corrected
• Maintain and keep clean assigned company vehicle at all times
• Perform job duties in a variety of settings (grocery, convenience, bar, etc.) and under challenging weather conditions (such as rain or snow)
• Project a friendly, professional image at all times
• Attend meetings as required
• Prioritize multiple, competing priorities
• Perform other duties are assigned

Job Qualifications

• Ability to operate/drive single axle truck with trailer
• Position requires a Texas Class A CDL driver’s license (at least one year of recent, consecutive experience)
• Must have experience with minimum 40'- 48' trailer
• Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills
• Must be highly motivated and results oriented, with a strong attention to detail
• Must be organized with the ability to handle multiple priorities
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
• Must be able to read and write English
• Ability to move products weighing up to 165 lbs., stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear
• Basic computer skills preferred
• Ability to work in various weather conditions
• Must be 21 yrs. or older to apply
• High school graduate or GED required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
