Job summary

Airgas in Bay City, MI is seeking a Delivery Driver/Cylinder Filler to safely transport and fill compressed gas cylinders for local customers. You will operate company vehicles from a branch or plant, manage cylinder flow, and build relationships with customers while maintaining safety standards.

The role requires a valid Class A CDL, Hazmat endorsement, and a Medical Examiner's Card. Prior driving experience or completed driving training may meet experience requirements.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL A with Hazmat endorsement and Medical Examiner's Card.
• Minimum 21 years old and able to read safety data sheets.
• Experience or training acceptable in lieu of years of driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders to customer locations.
• Fill industrial/medical/specialty gas into cylinders following Airgas procedures.
• Record deliveries and collect customer signatures on load manifests.
• Adhere to SAFECOR safety standards and government regulations (DOT/EPA/FMC SA/FDA/OSHA).
• Provide warehouse/dock support as needed.

Airgas is Hiring for a Cylinder Filler/Delivery Driver in Bay City, MI!

As an Ambassador for Airgas, the Service & Delivery Professional takes pride in the safe and reliable delivery of compressed gas cylinders to our local and regional business partners. Operating from an Airgas branch or plant location using a company-provided straight or box truck, you will manage the flow of cylinders while building lasting relationships with the customers you visit.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Cylinder Handling: Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to both external and internal customer locations.
• Cylinder Filling: Responsible for filling industrial, medical and specialty gas products into liquid gas cylinders in compliance with federal, state, local regulations, and meeting the standard operating procedures of Airgas.
• Record Keeping: Accurately record deliveries and pick-ups on a load manifest, obtaining customer signatures for receipt. Collect empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders and return them to a plant or branch for refilling.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR) and government regulations, including those from DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA.
• Warehouse Support: Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
• Valid Medical Examiner's Card.
• Hazmat Endorsement (or willing to obtain).
• Must have one (1) year of prior Class A professional driving experience within the last five (5) years and a clean driving record to include no more than two (2) convictions, OR two (2) at-fault accidents in the last three years; OR no more than a combination of one (1) conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last three years.
• In lieu of experience, may consider accepting a diploma from an accredited driving school and a minimum of one (1) year of prior driving experience within the last five (5) years.
• Must be at least 21 years or older
• Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
• Ability to routinely lift 25 – 75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
• Must be able to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending is also required.
