This position is primarily a delivery driver for a Fire Sprinkler Contractor. Besides driving product to and from jobsites this role requires loading and unloading the vehicle, restocking material, and performing other warehouse and fabrication type roles. This can include fixing tools, cleaning the warehouse, or even cutting, threading, and grooving pipe.

Operate vehicle in a variety of traffic and weather conditions

Develop a good working knowledge of products and tools

Unload material from truck by hand, hand cart, or palate jack and place in designated areas on project sites

Frequently lift products that weigh 1-75 pounds, push or move product with carts or pallet jacks that weigh several hundred pounds

Frequently reach up to 72" to stack and un-stack pallets; constantly bend and twist while loading and unloading

Must be flexible with start times ranging from 4am to 7am.

Inspect vehicle for safety

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience on construction sites is a plus
• Experience making deliveries downtown Chicago a plus
• Able to drive vehicles with standard (manual) and automatic transmission
• Have a good understanding of the metropolitan area and able to navigate from map(s) and directions
• Good written and verbal skills
• Must have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
• Physically able to sit for long periods of time and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Possess a valid driver's license with no DWI convictions, revocation, or suspensions
• No more than 1 moving violations and/or at fault accidents in the past 3 years
• Must submit for random drug testing
• A pre-employment background check and driver's license check are required for all applicants for this position
