Job summary

Airgas is hiring a CDL B Delivery Driver in Lakeland, FL. You will deliver compressed gas cylinders from a branch, loading and unloading, while maintaining safety and strong customer service. The role offers a predictable Mon-Fri schedule with a 7:00am start, home daily, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities include daily vehicle inspections, pair with a hands-on delivery routine, and regular interaction with customers to ensure timely service.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL B with HazMat and Airbrake endorsements or ability to obtain within 60 days.
• Must maintain valid driver’s license, medical card & endorsements.
• No more than two traffic convictions or two at-fault accidents in last 3 years; or mix of one each.
• Must be able to lift 75lbs and move 125lbs with equipment.
• One year of CDL driving experience in last 5 years or proof of trucking school completion in last 12 months.

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Load and unload the truck daily with gas cylinders & supplies.
• Nurture courteous & professional relationships with customers.
• Support deliveries in a timely manner.
• Safely secure and unsecure cylinders.

As a key representative of Airgas, the delivery driver contributes to the safe and efficient delivery of compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers from an Airgas branch or plant location using a company provided CDL B vehicle. This position involves loading, unloading, and returning compressed gas cylinders while frequently connecting with Airgas customers.

Job Duties

Required Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B CDL with HAZMAT (or able to obtain within 60 days from hire date) & Airbrake endorsements
• Maintain appropriate driver’s license, medical card & endorsements
• No more than two (2) traffic convictions: OR two (2) at-fault accident in the last 3 years; or no more than a combination of one (1) traffic conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last 3 years
• No driving while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance within the last seven (7) years
• Must be able to work in a drug-free environment
• Be able to regularly lift 75lbs and move more than 125lbs with the aid of material handling equipment
• Must have 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or be able able to provide proof of a certificate of completion from trucking school completed in the last 12 months.
