Shepherd Electric Supply in the Baltimore–Washington area seeks a CDL Class A driver for overnight transfer runs between branches. You will move electrical materials on time, perform pre-trip inspections, and help load and unload to keep branches stocked for the morning.
Work Monday–Friday, 7:00pm–4:00am, with starting pay of $35.00–$38.00 per hour. Benefits include medical/dental/life, paid vacation, and a 401(k) match. DOT/Medical and 3+ years experience required.
Since 1892, Shepherd Electric Supply has been the first call when complex, time-critical electrical challenges need to be solved, and reliability truly matters. We move materials accurately and on time, so contractors stay on schedule, projects stay on track, and customers never have to wonder if we will come through. Our success comes from people who take pride in doing things the right way — safely, accurately, and with care for teammates and customers alike. If you want to do work that matters at a company that notices, this is the place.
Every branch that opens ready to serve customers in the morning is ready because of a run that happened in the dark. When a contractor walks into a branch at 7 a.m. and the material they need is on the shelf, it is because a transfer driver moved it there overnight. That is not a small thing. That is the whole thing. At Shepherd, transfer drivers are the connective tissue of the branch network. While the rest of the company sleeps, you keep material moving between our locations so every branch starts the day stocked, staged, and ready to keep its promises. You carry Shepherd's reliability from one building to the next on every run.
We Keep Our Promises: You move complete, correct transfers on time so branches open stocked and no morning crew is left waiting. If a run is at risk, you communicate early — not after the branch opens short. We Stay Hungry: You know your routes cold, stay sharp on DOT compliance, and look for ways to make long overnight runs safer and more efficient. You ask questions, take feedback, and bring problems forward so they get solved. We Grow Together: Your customers are the other branches and the teams inside them. Your on-time transfers and clean handoffs set the whole network up to succeed. You make their morning easier, not harder. We Own It: You take responsibility for your load, your vehicle, and your run — including at 2 a.m. when no one is watching. Pre-trip inspections are done right, not skipped. If there is a discrepancy or a problem on the road, you call it in — you do not hope it resolves itself. We Go Above & Beyond: You stage inbound material so the receiving branch's morning crew can hit the ground running. You flag anything that could become a problem before it does, and you leave every truck ready for the next driver.
Monday - Friday, 7:00pm - 4:00am
The expected pay rate for this position is starting at $35.00 - $38.00 per hour depending on experience.
Steel toed boots required.
