Position Purpose

Food and food service delivery Drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Our delivery drivers not only make sure the customers’ products arrive at their destination at the arranged times and in good condition, but they are the face of our company – building lasting relationships with our customers!

Primary Responsibilities

• Drive tractor‑trailer or straight truck on intrastate, interstate local, over‑the‑road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes to deliver and/or unload food and food‑related products to customers in a safe and timely manner in accordance with DOT regulations.
• Communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co‑workers professionally, ensuring questions are answered accurately and promptly.
• Conduct daily safety inspections, including pre‑ and post‑trip checks, and ensure the tractor/truck and trailer meet DOT and company safety standards.
• Report all safety issues, required repairs, or hazards, and maintain logs of inspections.
• Count and verify items, check invoices, and complete required freight paperwork accurately and legibly.
• Move tractor to the loading dock, attach the trailer, drive to and deliver orders according to the predetermined schedule.
• Unload products, transfer items to customer storage areas, perform damage‑control checks, and coordinate removal of orders per company policy.
• Verify delivery with the customer, obtain signatures, collect cash or checks when required, and load customer returns onto the trailer.
• Secure the tractor, trailer, and freight; lock doors and track all equipment during shifts.
• Handle damaged goods and customer returns, and clear out the trailer at the end of the shift.
• Record hours of service and enter logs in compliance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
• Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clear and clean.
• Execute other related duties as assigned.
• Operate night dispatches with routes starting at 4 PM and perform night driving.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• Valid CDL‑A, 21+ years of age.
• Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
• Pass a post‑offer drug test and criminal background check.
• 12+ months CDL‑A tractor‑trailer driving experience.
• Attain or have a current DOT Health Card, or be able to secure a new DOT Health Card.
• Able to hand‑lift and use two‑wheeler, lift gate, and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight ranging from 10–35 pounds to 60–90 pounds per shift.

Compensation & Benefits
