Location: Tico Coffee Roasters Roastery, Campbell, CA · Part time

We are looking for a motivated Delivery Driver to support the operations team at Tico Coffee Roasters by providing accurate and timely deliveries to our customers. The ideal delivery driver candidate is proactive, responsible, and professional, keeping in mind that he/she is the face of the company. He/she always has a positive attitude, and smile on his/her face, and understands the need for professional and friendly communication that premium service requires, both when talking with customers or relating issues internally.

Tico Coffee Roasters is a women-owned boutique coffee roasting and tea company located in Campbell, CA. We exist to offer a truly unique experience that empowers, protects, and nourishes life from farm to cup. We deeply care about sustainability, high quality, and social responsibility.

In this role, he/she will perform both delivery driver and warehouse responsibilities, including loading delivery vehicles, delivering products to customers on his/her assigned route with a focus on exceptional customer service, picking up products or supplies from vendors, preparing orders, receiving and picking, general cleaning and upkeep of the car. At the warehouse, the ideal candidate will assist with packaging and shipping orders, cleaning, and organizing.

You will interact with established customers and develop new prospects within an assigned territory/geographic area.

Work hours: Morning Shifts Wednesday to Friday

Ideal Candidate

The ideal delivery driver candidate is proactive, responsible, and professional. He/she is exceptionally organized, has excellent attention to detail, and excels at multitasking. The Delivery Driver is also a careful driver who understands the importance of safety in the workplace.

Job Duties
  • Successfully handle and deliver packages on time.
  • Safely drive and perform safety inspections on Company vehicles, follow all local & state laws, road/driving regulations, and Company policies.
  • Provide excellent customer service and satisfaction despite stressful events/conditions.
  • Keep pace in a physically demanding job; work in all weather conditions; lift packages (up to 50 pounds); get in and out of a van repeatedly throughout the day at variable locations.
  • Communicate effectively with the support team to provide exceptional customer service and ensure deliveries are completed.
  • Use a smartphone device for GPS Navigation, scanning packages, conducting administrative requirements such as clocking in/out, and communicating with supervisors and other team members.
  • Load and unload packages in the delivery vehicle.
  • Deliver an exemplary customer service experience by solving customer problems when in the field or properly directing questions and requests to the Assistant Warehouse Manager or Operations Manager.
  • Introduce customers to new products, services, and company promotions when making deliveries.
  • Assist in preparing sales orders for delivery by picking, confirming picks, grinding coffee orders, boxing orders for shipment, and loading vehicles.
  • Document all work completed in paper or electronic format as required by the protocol.
  • Remove outdated/damaged products from supermarket shelves.
  • Perform routine warehouse and facility maintenance and cleaning.
  • Clean vehicles, report vehicle problems, and secure keys, and vehicle.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 22 years old
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • 1+ years of delivery driver or comparable experience is strongly preferred.
  • Valid Class C driver's license and a clean driving record, i.e., no major moving violations within the last three years.
  • Punctual and able to work the 7:00 a.m. shift and occasionally earlier or later shifts depending on business needs
  • Previous experience with customer service and hospitality is strongly preferred
  • Previous inventory tracking experience preferred
  • Load and unload products and equipment into and out of vehicles, emphasizing organization and safety
  • Proactive, professional, organized, responsible, and a team player
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail, accuracy, and quality
  • Ability to respond professionally in written and verbal communication with neat, legible handwriting
  • Ability to read, interpret, and comply with documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
  • A love of coffee and craft beverage

Trial Period

There is a 90 days trial period in which the applicant must demonstrate satisfactory internal orientation completion, understanding of the products and equipment offered to clients, and effectively complete the assigned tasks in a timely manner.

Compensation

Competitive Hourly Wage, 401K with employer match (100% of contributions on the first 3% deferred, then 50% of contributions from 3% to 5%), early access to pay with Homebase Cash Out, free access to Financial Tools with Gusto Wallet, and one free 12 oz bag of coffee every month. Paid sick leave accrues at the rate of one hour per every 30 hours worked.
