The Common Market Mid-Atlantic, a mission-driven distributor of local foods, is looking for a Delivery Driver to work 35-45 hours per week. The role is based in our warehouse in Philadelphia, with responsibilities including delivery and pickups throughout the Mid-Atlantic (DC - NY).

Salary: $22.50/hour, with a potential $4,000 Safe Driving Bonus annually.

Main Responsibilities

1. Provide excellent service while picking up and delivering local farm products.
2. Handle farmer purchase orders and customer invoices, and collect check payments for delivered goods.
3. Load and unload the truck manually.
4. Guard food safety and quality by checking and documenting safe conditions.
5. Drive and maintain equipment in excellent condition.
6. Begin and end each truck run following established procedures.
7. Operate equipment on the vehicle to load, unload, disperse, and secure loads for transport.
8. Communicate all pickups, deliveries, and service issues with the CM office.
9. Maintain truck logs.

Qualifications

• At least 1+ year of driving experience; candidates with wholesale food delivery experience will be given first consideration.
• CDL A/B certification preferred, with local delivery experience.
• Experience driving 20-24' refrigerated box trucks.
• Excellent driving record and child abuse clearances.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to lift and pull up to 55 pounds.
• Flexibility, a sense of humor, and a strong desire to learn.
• Experience using computers or tablets.
• Must be able to work Saturdays.
