Delivery Expert – Requirements and Duties

You must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record meeting company standards, plus access to an insured vehicle for delivery. You should have customer service skills, navigational ability to read maps and locate addresses within the delivery area, and the capability to navigate adverse terrain including multi-story buildings. Drivers may assist with inside tasks such as food preparation and cleaning. (Refer to General Job Duties for All Team Members.)

Must be licensed in the US for at least the last 2 years and be able to prove driving history. You must be insured on the vehicle’s policy. Vehicle must be registered.

Pay

$20.00 per hour, plus tips and mileage

General Duties for All Team Members

• Stock ingredients from the delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler. Prepare product.
• Receive and process telephone orders.
• Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
• Clean equipment and facility daily.

Training

Orientation and on-the-job training provided.

Communication Skills

• Ability to comprehend and follow written instructions.
• Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders over the phone and in person.

Essential Functions / Skills / Abilities

• Accurate arithmetic and quick calculations (calculator allowed).

• Navigational skills to read maps and locate addresses within the delivery area; ability to navigate adverse terrain including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying product.

Work Conditions

Exposure to varying weather conditions and in-store temperatures ranging from cool to hot; odours from food; cornmeal dust; cramped spaces; hot surfaces (up to 500°F); sharp edges and moving parts.

• Exposed to noise and odors typical of a kitchen and delivery environment.

Sensing

• Talk and hear on telephone; vision requirements for in-store tasks; depth perception; ability to differentiate hot/cold surfaces.

Physical Requirements

Includes standing, walking on varied surfaces, lifting, carrying, pushing, climbing, crouching/squatting, reaching, and hand tasks as part of routine work.

• Standing: Most tasks performed while standing.
• Walking: Movement on tiled and linoleum surfaces; work surfaces between 36" and 48" high.
• Lifting/Carrying: Up to 50 pounds; occasional heavy loads; pizzas, ingredients, and supplies.
• Pushing/Pulling: Movement of trays and dollies.
• Climbing, bending, reaching, and fine motor tasks required as part of daily duties.

Mandatory Requirements to Drive

All drivers (applicant or employee) must meet the following:

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Provide at least 2 years of licensed driving history in the United States (documentation required).
• Uninterrupted driving history of at least 1.5 years during the last 2 years; suspension not at the start of the 2-year period.
• No more than 1 violation and 1 at-fault accident in the last 2 years; no more than 2 violations and 1 at-fault accident in the last 3 years; no more than 3 violations in the last 3 years; no more than 1 at-fault accident in the last 3 years.
• No distracted driving violations within the last 3 years; no serious violations in the past 5 years (examples include drugs/alcohol, leaving the scene, speeding 30 mph or more over limit, etc.).
• Moving violations count as violations (seatbelt and inoperable brake light citations do not).

Periodic Delivery Vehicle Inspection

Vehicles used for deliveries must be inspected at the start of employment and periodically thereafter, under supervision, to ensure safety standards are met. Items typically inspected include headlights, tires, mirrors, taillights, brakes, wipers, doors, backup lights, horn, and safety belts.
